Krishna Janmashtami ( Gokulashtami) is celebrated all over the India to commemorate the birth of the Lord Krishna. This festival is celebrated on the Ashtami (eighth day) of Krishna Paksha. In Maharshtra and other parts Dahi Handi competitions are organized to celebrate God's playful side. In Dahi Handi competitions teams of young men form human towers to reach a high hanging pot of butter and break it. Dahi Handis celebrated with enormous zeal and enthusiasm in Mumbai, no other part of the country can match their scale.
